Paraguay defeated Jamaica 1-0 Tuesday in a lackluster Group B match at the Copa América, giving the South Americans four points from their first two matches.
Paraguay scored the only goal after a stunning error by the Jamaica goalkeeper Duwayne Kerr.
Kerr came 25 yards off his line to head away a long ball from the Paraguay defence. Instead, he headed it on to the knee of Paraguay’s Edgar Benítez and they both watched as it rolled into the net. Paraguay had most of the possession but it was an unconvincing win nonetheless.
On Saturday, Paraguay face Uruguay and Jamaica, who have lost their first two group games, play Argentina.
