Porto striker Jackson Martinez set to join AC Milan

The Portuguese club's president has confirmed the Serie A side are set to pay €35 million (£25.3m) to sign the Colombia international
Jackson Martinez has chosen to join AC Milan this summer, according to Porto president Pinto da Costa.

The 28-year-old Colombia international has been widely expected to move to San Siro over the last couple of weeks, with his agent admitting that a deal with the Serie A club was "imminent".

Martinez, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, has now seemingly committed his future to Milan and will complete a transfer this summer.

"I've just learned that Jackson Martinez has chosen AC Milan," Da Costa told Porto Canal

"This is what he wants, I just want him to be happy. AC Milan will pay the €35 million [£25.3m] clause."

Martinez, who arrived from Chiaspas in 2012, scored 31 goals in all competitions for Porto last season, including eight in nine Champions League appearances.

He lifted the Primeira Liga title in 2013 and has finished as top league goalscorer in each of his three seasons in Portugal.

Martinez is currently on international duty in Chile ahead of Colombia's Copa America opener against Venezuela on Sunday.
