FC Barcelona Set To Sign Seville’s Aleix Vidal For €10m

Spanish newspaper Sport report that the deal is expected to be announced in the coming days and Vidal’s arrival would appear to confirm that Dani Alves is indeed going to leave the club. Vidal is expected to sign a 5 year contract following the final of the Champions League.
The transfer ban, which means the players can sign contracts with FC Barcelona but cannot be registered, means that Aleix Vidal will not play for the club till January. Despite that, the player is ready to sign and train with his team mates such is his desire to move.
The Catalan player is currently with the Spanish Nation team and has been a key player for Seville on their march to Europa League title and narrowly missing out on 4th to finish 5th in La Liga.
FC Barcelona will pay Sevilla 10 million euros and there will be no add ons. There was speculation that the fee could be reduced by including Denis Suarez, who is on loan to Seville, but that was not the case in the end.
Relations between the two clubs are good with FC Barcelona signing Rakitic from Seville and loaning Denis Suarez and Gerard Deulofeu with now a possibility of Sergie Samper also being loaned to the Andalusian for the 2015-16 season.
It’s not been ruled out that Vidal could then be presented this week, before Josep Maria Bartomeu announces the date for elections.
As the statistic for his performances in 14-15 shows, Vidal was crucial to Seville on their march to the Europa League win, making 11 appearances and contributing to 6 goals. 4 Goals and 5 assists in 22 starts in the league indicate the player’s end product prowess, further. A good dribbler who often marauds forward, the wing back will only get better in the coming years with him being just 22.
FC Barcelona are on the hunt for a replacement of Dani Alves who is refusing to sign a new contract extension and at 10 million Euro, Vidal represents a fine value for money at just 22 years of age and bags of potential.
