Cattermole pens long-term Sunderland deal


The 27-year-old midfielder has agreed a new five-year contract with the Black Cats and Dick Advocaat says he is a very important part of the club
Sunderland have announced that midfielder Lee Cattermole will remain with the club until 2021 after signing a new and improved deal.

The 27-year-old midfielder, who originally joined from Wigan in 2009, has penned a five-year extension to his previous contract.
Head coach Dick Advocaaat has praised the midfielder's impact on the team and says he is delighted he has extended his stay at the Stadium of Light.

"Lee is the controller of the side. He is a motivator, a leader and central to the success of our team," he told the club's official website.

"To know that he will be with us for many years to come is very important to the club."
