Napoli complete Valdifiori signing

The 29-year-old midfielder joins the Partenopei from Empoli, having completed a medical at the club's training ground at the weekend before penning his contract
Napoli have confirmed the signing of Mirko Valdifiori from Empoli.

The 29-year-old midfielder had long been linked to a move to the Stadio San Paolo, having spent seven years under contract at the Florence side.

Valdifiori enjoyed a bright season in Serie A last term with the Azzurri and, after lengthy discussions between both sides, has made his move to the Partenopei official.

The former Cesena player underwent a medical with Napoli on Saturday before signing a contract with the club.

President Aurelio de Laurentiis announced the news on Twitter, saying "Welcome, Valdifiori. The first piece of a new Napoli."
