West Ham have signed Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus, the club have confirmed.The centre-back has signed a four-year deal with the club, who have beaten off competition to sign the defender.
The Hammers opened talks with the Italian club at the start of the week, and subsequently won the race to secure the defender's signature ahead of Everton and Southampton, despite interest from their Premier League rivals.
Juventus have revealed that the fee for the defender amounts to £7.9 million, spread over three years.
Ogbonna, who has been capped 10 times by Italy, has struggled to secure regular first-team football at Juventus and will now help the club in their Europa League campaign, with the club having progressed to the second qualifying round with a 4-0 aggregate win over Lusitanos on Thursday.
Ogbonna becomes Slaven Bilic's third key signing of the summer, following the signings of Pedro Obiang and Dimitri Payet.
